It continues to feed the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality that has become so pervasive, devaluing hard work and determination, persistence and self-discipline, healthy competition and drive. The very things that set a life apart.
I found this article very interesting. In an era of misinformation, outright lies and media manipulation (by all sides) how is it that people develop and hold on to specific beliefs? It boggles my mind how people can justify certain beliefs. This article shows that myths may be held onto simply because of familiarity, even in the face of truth.
It has been said “Enthusiasm and ignorance can get you halfway through any project.” Most projects, events, and relationships begin with great enthusiasm and anticipation, but about halfway through, feelings can turn to discouragement, weariness and near defeat.
Sally was a teacher. Not just a teacher, but someone special. She spent her entire life teaching in a one room school house. She was the last one-room school teacher in the state of Kansas.

Tom and I met a couple of years ago through business, quickly figured out we have many things in common and struck up a friendship. The first of this year I got a call from Tom and he said, we now have one more thing in common, I have cancer.
The other gentlemen said I wasn’t too concerned about my rear getting pelted but I was praying mighty hard. Dear Lord don’t let a bunch of rain water whoosh down this pipe and blow us into the lake!
